Lee Health (LH) in Fort Myers, Florida, is currently seeking applicants for the role of Vice President of Operations & Chief Nurse Executive for its 415-bed, flagship facility, Lee Memorial Hospital (LMH). The leadership structure at LMH is a dyad model, and this individual is the senior dyad partner to the Chief Physician Executive. Jointly they are accountable for the overall leadership and success of the facility, and report directly to a system level executive.
Lee Health is the leading provider of health care in Southwest Florida and has served the citizens of Lee County and surrounding communities since 1916. With a total of 1,426 beds (4 acute care and 2 specialty hospitals) and more than one million patient contacts each year, Lee Health is one of the largest public health systems in the US. It is a progressive, financially sound organization with 1,480 physicians and more than 14,000 employees.
Lee Memorial Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center and houses The Rehabilitation Hospital, a 60-bed comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation facility. LMH is the legacy anchor facility of the system and is deeply rooted in the local community. It is regarded for its quality, compassionate care, and mission driven culture. Given its place and history in the organization, the Vice President of Operations and Chief Nurse Executive will have a great deal of visibility within the system, serving on the senior nursing leadership council, and play a key leadership role in shaping the future direction and success of LMH.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation and have the ability to form strong relationships inside and outside of Lee Health. This individual actively participates in organizational leadership functions and collaborates with other organizational leaders and Medical Staff in designing and providing patient care and services.
The ideal candidate will have a BSN and a Master’s degree in Nursing or other Healthcare related field and/or Business Administration, and a minimum of 12+ years of progressive leadership experience. Individuals with prior operations experience in environments of comparable size, scale and complexity will be seen favorably. Licensure, or the ability to become licensed in the state of Florida is required.
