The Nurse Researcher coordinates and conducts nursing research studies and related activities based on the mission, vision, and values of Gundersen Health System (GHS) and the Gundersen Medical Foundation. Combining a spirit of scientific inquiry with the philosophy of the Nursing Professional Framework, the Nurse Researcher will work with the Nursing Research team to develop, conduct, evaluate, disseminate, and provide support for evidence-based practice and research across the GHS, community, and beyond. The Nurse Researcher will participate in study protocol development, ensure compliance with protocols including national, state and GHS laws and regulations, and maintain accurate records. This position requires a high level of verbal and written communication as demonstrated through collaboration with other disciplines, faculty, students, outside agencies, and nursing staff to answer questions and guide nursing research. The scope of research will include clinical research, health systems and outcomes research, and/or nursing education research including but not limited to: acute and chronic care over the entire life span; health promotion and disease prevention; end-of-life care; health care delivery with a focus on quality and cost of health care; patient and family experiences; educational and life-long learning in the nursing profession; and retaining nursing staff.
Education and Learning:
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college of nursing, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, such as Clinical Nurse Leader or related healthcare field or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
3-4 years of nursing experience with some background in conducting research
License and Certifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin
