Underthe direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, supervises and facilitates directand/or indirect, safe and effective professional nursing care in assigneddepartment(s). Oversees nursing care toa patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwiseindicated. Encourages professionaleducation and acts as a teacher and a resource for clinical practice. Ensuresproductivity and profitability of all assigned departments. Participates in long range planning,resources allocation, marketing of services, physician relations and attendsdefined meetings as requested by the Chief Nursing Officer. Identifies, resolves, and provides follow-upon problems involving patients and/or unit operations. Works collaborativelywith the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit andhospital goals. Supports and enhancesquality nursing care according to established practice standards and guidelinesfor the area(s) assigned. Must be ableto assume role of Administrative Supervisor.
Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice.
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
Ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing

Currentunrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
Knowledge ofgeneral nursing theories and practice
Successfulcompletion of nursing service orientation program
Attends IVTherapy training and/or demonstrates competency in intravenous therapy withinorientation period.
Attends SkillsFair and completes yearly competency checklists
Must have currentBCLS certification
Five years ofprevious hospital experience required, including experience as a nursesupervisor and/or nursing leadership position
Must be able toeffectively motivate and supervise others.
Must be able toutilize initiative and independent action when required within the scopeof professional nursing practice.
