We have been exclusively retained by a non-profit, acute care teaching hospital and referral center to search and recruit for a talented nurse leader who will move its Operating Room forward. Our client is a Level II Trauma Center, accommodating Level I patients, is known for delivering innovative and high quality accessible healthcare to their patients and is in a growth and construction mode as it builds a new state-of-the-art medical complex. Their Cardiac Surgery Program received the highest available “3 Star Rating” in 2018 from the STS.
Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services, the OR Nurse Manager will independently and autonomously oversee the day-to-day management of 55 FTE’s. Surgeries focus on orthopedics, general surgery and gynecology. The ideal candidate will have a calming demeanor; ability to work through challenges; is open to suggestions; believes in accountability; and manages with “fairness, firmness and consistency”. The role serves as the key participant in maintaining open communication; “crucial conversations” and assisting with a collaborative work environment.

An extremely dynamic strong leader with a solid OR background coupled with experience working with finance, budgeting and payroll.
Knowledge of a union hospital work environment is preferred.
Strategic thinker with solid organizational; decision-making; effective verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to mentor teams.
Savvy demeanor to create "buy-in" from physicians.
5+ years clinical OR experience; 3-5+ years management experience.
Trauma and Endo experience is a plus.
RN licensure in a compact state is a plus, BSN required. MSN preferred.
CNOR certification preferred.
