Description: The Director of Women and Children�sServices is accountable for the management and operation of the department. TheDirector functions with initiative and appropriate independent judgment. TheDirector is responsible for the development of and maintenance ofinterdisciplinary relationships between all levels of departmental personnel.The Director�s performance and behavior shall be both reflective and supportiveof the Mission Statement and Core Values of the hospital. The Director�sresponsibilities include development, maintenance and coordination ofdepartmental operations. The Director assures safe patient care and staffdevelopment. Other duties include but not limited to: developing policies andprocedures, assuring quality control including managing the departmentaloperations and capital equipment budgets, the management and continuousmaintenance of staffing and the development of personnel in the department. TheDirector is responsible for managing Continuous Quality Improvement activities,risk prevention of infection, and staff adherence to evidence-based nursingpractice.
(1) Current CA RN License
(2) Current BLS; NRP
(3) Minimum 3 years acute clinical nursing experience
(4) B.S.N. degree or higher - Master's preferred
(5) Previous supervisory experience
(1) National certification in the area of specialty
(2) Fetal Monitoring certification
(3) Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
(4) Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential
(5) Must be fluent in spoken and written English
