The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides leadership and oversight of clinical services/departments as assigned. This responsibility includes planning, organizing, developing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the activities and resources (human and material) necessary for regulatory compliance, quality performance, efficient operations and fiscal accountability. This individual consults and collaborates with other leaders and team members related to operations within areas of responsibility, aligning with organizational strategy and initiatives. The CNO performs the job functions in accordance with the mission and policies of Stanford Health Care – Valley Care (SHC-VC). The Chief Nursing Officer is the designated nurse executive for the organization and will lead SHC-VC’s journey toward Magnet status.

Senior Search Consultant
Bachelor’s in Nursing (if graduate degree is not a nursing degree).
Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.
Ten years of progressive management experience in hospital nursing; or responsibility/accountability similar in size, scope, function, and complexity to the SHC-VC Chief Nursing Officer Essential Functions.
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of California.
ANCC Certification in Nurse Executive- Advanced preferred.
