Based in Irving, TX, a suburb of Dallas, the System Vice President and Divisional Chief Nurse Executive (SVP/CNE) is responsible for providing leadership for up to 16 hospitals and other healthcare providers in Texas and Louisiana for CHRISTUS Health. Viewed as a partner and ambassador for nursing system initiatives, the SVP/CNE reports directly to the System Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. He/she will help drive consistency in nursing care and standards across multiple ministries, while identifying and helping to implement best practices. The hospital Chief Nurse Officers report directly to the facility Presidents, with a dotted line to the SVP/CNE. This executive level position will develop strong and effective working relationships with the Regional Chief Executive Officers, hospital Presidents, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and Chief Medical Officers.
In addition to overall system initiatives, this nursing executive will serve as a resource to the hospital Chief Nursing Officers and assume an active role in the coaching and mentoring process. Priority areas include labor costs, productivity, the patient experience, associate engagement and the regulatory environment. After assessing specific needs at a facility, this leader will be a major part of action planning and goal development. Working collaboratively with Regional Human Resources leadership, the SVP/CNE will help focus on establishing and securing a stable work force for the near future.
CHRISTUS Health seeks a seasoned and outstanding nursing professional to serve as SVP/CNE. He/she should possess a work history reflecting solid nursing leadership skills, a quality focus, and track record of success. The candidate of choice will have a Master’s degree in Nursing and/or DNP coupled with more than ten years’ experience at the senior executive level. Multi-site leadership experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, lead by example, be an effective communicator, and build relationships throughout the organization. Quality, safety, and high reliability experience with improving those initiatives which enhance care is valued. Experience coaching and mentoring Chief Nursing Officers is also required. This individual must be confident, energetic, team-oriented, and work collaboratively in a matrix organization. He/she will possess the highest integrity and promote the values and culture of the ministry. Master’s in Nursing and/or Doctorate of Nursing Practice.
Ten or more years’ experience at the senior executive level.
