SUMMARY: This role provides leadership and support to thesenior executive position (COO) responsible for all nursing and otherdesignated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization.The role will assume responsibility forassisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluatingnursing practice on a multi-unit level. Role assumes 24/7 responsibility of Director�s assigned areas.The role is accountable to support COO to ensurehigh quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff,and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
POSITION PURPOSE: Providesstrategic leadership and oversight to the continuum of Perioperative services,Anesthesia Tech Services, and Sterile Processing Services to accomplishsustained quality, service and growth in all areas of responsibility. Developsand implements initiatives to expand and maximize the effectiveness of theServices, including targeted performance improvement initiatives for all areas.Promotes the development and implementation of best practices and thecultivation of a highly efficient patient flow process. Collaborates with thenursing and medical staff leadership on issues related to service delivery,technology and equipment, capital planning, revenue generation and enhancement,and all other related administrative matters. Coordinates resources to meet patient care demands. Drives employeeengagement to create a highly coordinated, well-functioning department. Ensuresprograms and services are in compliance with hospital and corporate policies aswell as federal, state, and local agency regulations.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS AND LEVEL OF AUTONOMY: Reportsdirectly to the Chief Operating Officer.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: All perioperativeleadership, anesthesia leadership, surgical physician assistant services, sterileprocessing leadership assigned directly to the Director of PerioperativeServices.
Demonstratedknowledge and skill in interpersonal relations, group dynamics, and problemsolving, interviewing, observation, counseling and teaching.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Master�sdegree in clinical field, MBA or MHA.
PROFESSIONALLICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONREQUIRED:
Current RN license preferred
CNOR certification preferred
EXPERIENCEREQUIRED: Minimum of 5-7 yearsexperience managing a complex hospital department or service. Previous leadership in perioperative servicesrequired.
