Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Center City – Philadelphia is currently hiring Nursing Directors for Patient Care Services Operations. The Nursing Director is a Registered Nurse who organizes, manages, and provides oversight for the financial, human, and other resources for all nursing operations. The Nursing Director creates a collaborative and efficient work environment with a focus on quality standards and the provision of quality patient care.
An ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate a strong ability to work with a team, have an in-depth knowledge of the health care industry, and will have an excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the staffing and administration of patient care services throughout the organization.
Supervise the caliber of treatment and quality of patient care. Committed to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to recruit and retain quality nursing and patient care personnel influenced by current market trends and environmental factors.
Maintain and promote effective communication within the department and other departments to meet organizational goals.
Take fiscal responsibility for patient care services by continually monitoring budget revenues and expenses, and labor analytic reports and takes action as needed
Engage, motivate, and influence staff to be active participants in patient care and staff activities
Lead strategic initiatives that promote growth and expansion of services in the Patient Care Department
Interact with coworkers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of Jefferson Health.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field required (DNP preferred)
Ten (10) years’ nursing experience
Five (5) years’ experience of hospital clinical practice
Demonstrated leadership management capabilities
Ability to provide effective leadership for the Department of Nursing and Patient Care Division
