Job Summary/Purpose: The Director of Nursing reports to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer or Executive Director of Nursing. Under limited supervision, the Director of Nursing oversees and provides leadership for all clinical and support activities for their areas of responsibility. This role interacts proactively with other directors, leaders, physicians, nurses and other members of the health care delivery team to achieve desired outcomes. The Director of Nursing acts as a liaison between ICCE leaders and Directors of Ambulatory Services to assure continuity of care and goal alignment.
Minimum Training and Education: Master’s degree in Nursing Psychiatric, Mental Health or equivalent required. Five years of healthcare leadership experience in mental health administration or in a closely related activity, of which at least three years were in a management capacity in a hospital environment. Must demonstrate competencies to participate in formulating interdisciplinary treatment plans, provide skilled nursing care and therapy and direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care plans.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certified in Nursing Leadership or certification eligible with attainment within a year of hire.Registered Nurse by South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA Equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Certified in Nursing Leadership or certification eligible with attainment within a year of hire.
