Good Samaritan Hospital is a 474 bed acute care hospital in the heart of Silicon Valley, with two locations, the main campus in San Jose, California and Mission Oaks campus in Los Gatos, California. The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) assists the CNO in executive-level management of resources, strategic planning and development of policies and procedures which ensure congruence with the mission and vision of the organization. The ACNO has operational and functional responsibility for a group of patient care areas and/or special projects or initiatives. The ACNO will develop communication, knowledge, leadership, professionalism, and business skills necessary to advance to a CNO.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree nursing (Required for new hire CNOs as of 7/20/11)
Master's degree nursing or related field
5+ years of experience in clinical nurse management
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Licenses, Certifications, & Training:
Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation.
Specialty certification in Executive Nursing Practice or Healthcare Administration.
Member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)
Member of American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE)
