Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia is currently hiring a Nursing Director of Patient Care Services for Emergency Services to oversee operations at its Center City and Methodist Campuses. The Nursing Director is a Registered Nurse who organizes, manages, and provides oversight of the financial, human, and other resources for nursing operations. The Nursing Director creates a collaborative and efficient work environment with a focus on quality standards, innovative practice, and exceptional patient care.
An ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, an ability to promote and engage in teamwork, an ability to quickly adapt and re-prioritize one's work, and an ability to lead and develop personnel. The candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the health care industry with a focus on emergency and trauma center operations.
Essential Functions include – but are not limited to:
Responsible for the staffing and administration of patient care services throughout the organization.
Supervise the caliber of treatment and quality of patient care.
Committed to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to recruit and retain quality nursing and patient care personnel influenced by current market trends and environmental factors.
Maintain and promote effective communication within the department and other departments to meet organizational goals.
Assume fiscal responsibility for patient care services by continually monitoring budget revenues and expenses, and labor analytic reports. Develops action plans as needed.
Engage, motivate, and influence staff to be active participants in patient care and staff activities.
Lead strategic initiatives that promote growth and expansion of services in the Patient Care Service Division.
Interact with coworkers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of Jefferson Health.
Minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field required (DNP preferred)
Ten (10) years’ Emergency nursing experience
Five (5) years’ experience in emergency department leadership
Demonstrated leadership management capabilities
Ability to provide effective leadership for the Department of Nursing and Patient Care Division
