The Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) for UnityPoint Health – Des Moines (UPH-DM) functions as the senior leader for nursing services and is responsible for effective operations of patient care. This position works closely with the UPH CNE to support overall nursing excellence and growth across all of UPH. In collaboration with other members of the Senior Leadership team the CNE creates a vision and strategic direction for nursing to support the mission, vision and values of UPH-DM within all organizations include our five rural affiliate hospitals. As a member of the UPH-DM administration team, the CNE leads initiatives aligned with the UPH pillars; care delivery, innovation, financing and experience. The CNE promotes an environment that encourages staff to gain new skills and provides an environment that promotes trust and decision-making at the staff level.
Master's degree required. Bachelor's or Master's must be in nursing (BSN or MSN required). MSN preferred. Five years progressively more responsible management experience with demonstrated results in improving performance. Previous clinical experience in a hospital setting is required. Previous experience as a CNE is desired. Certification in nursing administration required or commitment to obtain within one year. RN license in the state of Iowa required.
