As such, the new Chief Nursing Officer, Acute Care Division will be charged with maintaining, nurturing and building upon the organization’s culture of nursing excellence.
The Acute Care Division’s Nursing/Patient Care Department includes 1,680 FTEs and a budget in excess of $170.5 million serving 2 Acute care hospitals and a Rehabilitation Hospital. Details related to the Hospitals are as follows:
Renown Regional Medical Center is an 808-bed tertiary/quaternary regional referral center. The hospital reports a Medicare Case Mix Index of 2.07 and has an average daily census of 505.
Renown South Meadows Medical Center is a 76-bed community hospital.
Renown Rehabilitation Hospital with 62 beds is an excellent specialty facility.
Reporting to the COO of Acute Care, the CNO’s challenges include recruiting and retaining as well as developing a top-notch nursing workforce.
