The Director,Clinical Quality Improvement will oversee three campuses of the Abrazo HealthSystem � Central, Mesa, and Scottsdale.
Abrazo Central Campus (located at 19th Avenue and BethanyHome Road in Phoenix), a 221-bed acute care facility and teaching hospital, hasbeen providing quality care to patients in the Phoenix community for more than50 years. Abrazo Central Campus has received many notable awards andaccolades from national organizations including Gold Plus and Target Stroke;Honor Roll Awards from the American Heart and American Stroke Association; Top50 Cardiovascular Hospital by Truven Health Analytics; Chest Pain Accreditationwith PCI from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care; and the Donor NetworkAward for �Outstanding Operating Room,� among others. Abrazo Mesa Hospital (located The hospital is located at 5750 E. Baseline Rd.) is our sisterhospital to Abrazo Central Campus. Abrazo Mesa Hospital focuses on providingEmergency Room services and less complex inpatient procedures. It l includes a12-bed emergency department, an operating room, and eight inpatient rooms,along with additional services. Thefacility�s emergency department is open around the clock and staffed byboard-certified Emergency Physicians. Additional services include surgery, diagnosticimaging, laboratory, pharmacy and other outpatient services in the 32,500square foot building.
Abrazo Scottsdale Campus (located at AZ-51 and Bell Road inPhoenix) is a 136-bed full-service acute care community-based hospital whichhas provided excellent comprehensive medical care to patients in thenortheastern region of metro Phoenix for more than 30 years. Abrazo ScottsdaleCampus provides specialized services such as an accredited chest pain center,wound care and hyperbaric (high pressure) medicine, advanced orthopedicsfeaturing navigational technology and sports medicine, expanded rehabilitationservices, enhanced diagnostic imaging, and dedicated women�s programs.
The Director,Clinical Quality Improvement is responsible for designing, implementing andoverseeing all aspects of the quality improvement and patient safety programswithin the facility. Reporting to theChief Nursing Officer, The Director, Clinical Quality Improvement will workcollaboratively with hospital senior leadership and market/regional and homeoffice leaders to align resources to meet priorities and goals. The Director will be responsible for thedevelopment of an integrated approach to quality and patient safety across theorganization including all facets of Quality Management, Risk Management,Medical Staff Quality, Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention, andPatient Safety. The Director will serveas an expert resource within the facility related to clinical quality, patientsafety, regulatory and quality improvement issues, and activities related toaccreditation. Acts as Departmentadministrator. Establishes and enforcespolicies, procedures, standards and objectives. Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow. Position has budgetary or fiscalaccountability. Responsible 24 hours a day forthe ongoing effective operation of the Department exerting a leadership rolewhich supports the organization�s mission and values, goals and objectives,while focusing on the patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and thecommunity as customers. Ongoingaccountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination andintegration of the department services and standards of care into thehospital�s primary function. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping,employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supplyorders and department strategic planning.
Required: Registered ProfessionalNurse (RN) with Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree in patient care relatedfield
Required: Minimum10 years experience in QA/PI
Required: Must be currentlylicensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law,regulation in state of practice or policy.
CPHQ or eligible to take exam within two yearsof employment.
Experience with The JointCommission standards
