The Chief Clinical Officer serves a vital role in maintaining Gilchrist Healthcare’s commitment to the highest level of care and continuous quality innovation. This position reports to the President and serves as part of the Executive Management Team. The selected candidate will oversee a staff of 280 with six direct reports - four associate nursing directors, one social work specialist and one spiritual specialist. Responsibilities include further strengthening an exceptional clinical program that includes effective measures that meet all local, state and national requirements.
This position will provide operational leadership to support the strategy of Gilchrist Implements and monitors outcomes of service/programs provided by Gilchrist. An ideal nursing leader candidate will have a minimum of 15 years’ clinical leadership experience, preferably within a large, complex healthcare setting. Candidates must be a Registered Nurse, licensed in Maryland, and possess a bachelor’s and master’s degree. The new Chief Clinical Officer will possess excellent communication skills with a strong track record of successful work in a regulatory environment. Most importantly, the selected candidate will be an experienced leader, able to bring out the best in staff and work collaboratively across this award-winning healthcare organization. Hospice and palliative care experince preferred.

About Gilchrist Healthcare and Hospice
Founded in 1994, Gilchrist is the largest hospice in Maryland and provides care to approximately 960 patients each day - 7,400 each year. Its services are comprehensive, meeting the medical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients in a nationally recognized program of hospice/elder care and counseling services. Gilchrist provides care in three inpatient centers (64 beds total) -- Gilchrist Center Towson, Gilchrist Center Howard County and Gilchrist Center Baltimore, as well as in-home or residential community care centers, such as assisted-living facilities, retirement communities and group homes.
