Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Acute Care Services is accountable for the overall operation of designated nursing departments. This includes the effective and efficient allocation, utilization, and management of the financial, human, and material resources within areas of responsibility. Assists in the advancement of the professional practice environment by collaborating in setting the NGMC nursing strategic direction and focusing on activities that support the nursing strategic direction. Provides nursing executive support for VOICE and the NDNQI quality teams including mentoring and coaching team members in their professional participation. Assists with overall clinical governance and other projects as assigned.
Must be licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia. Required: National certification in either a clinical or leadership specialty within two years of hire.
Required: A degree in Nursing (either BSN or MSN) and a Master's Degree, either in Nursing or other if possessing a BSN. Preferred: PhD and/or DNP.
Required: Professional organization membership within one month of hire into the role. Preferred: Officer in local, state and/or national prefessional organization.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in practice of professional Nursing. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in appropriate clinical areas. Successful experience in Nursing management position, supervisory teaching, or comparable.
