Albany, NY - WittKieffer is pleased to partner with Albany Medical Center to recruit their next Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The new CNO will be responsible for organizing and administering the operations for the delivery of patient care and nursing practice as defined by the administrative organization. The new CNO reports to Dr. Vincent Verdile, M.D., Sr. Executive Vice President for System Care Delivery & Dean, Albany Medical College, Albany Medical Center with daily operational oversight to Dr. Ferdinand Venditti M.D., EVP for System Care Delivery & Hospital General Director and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs.
Albany Med is northeastern New York’s only academic health sciences center and is one of the largest private employers in the Capital Region. It incorporates the 734-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital and the Albany Medical College, which also includes a biomedical research enterprise and the region’s largest physicians practice with more than 450 doctors. In addition to working with dozens of community partners to improve the region’s health and quality of life, Albany Med is affiliated with Columbia Memorial Health, Saratoga Hospital and Glens Falls Hospital to provide the largest locally governed health system in the region. Combined, these four hospitals offer nearly 1,520 beds, more than 800 physicians and 125 outpatient locations throughout the Capital Region.
The CNO is the Chief Nursing Officer for all of Albany Medical Center, including the main campus and South Clinical Campus hospitals as well as the nursing areas of the physician practices of AMCH and Albany Medical College. The successful candidate will be an authentic and collaborative nursing leader with a track record of elevating nursing practice and leading measurable improvements to the quality and cost of care across a complex organization. A Bachelor's in nursing as well as Master’s degree in nursing, business administration, public health or relevant related field, and experience negotiating with unions is required.
