Department administrator for AbrazoWest Campus Hospital with Market lead responsibility as well. Establishes andenforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives. Directs and supervisesstaff as well as workflow. Provides education and support to medical staff,hospital staff and Governing Board around Quality, Patient Safety and Riskinitiatives. Facilitates performance improvement activities and CQI activitiesthroughout the hospital. Acts as resource person to administrative teams acrossthe Market, local Hospital leadership, department managers and medical staff.Supports clinical risk management functions. Maintains oversight of infection controlactivities and monitors outcomes to care related to infection controlindicators. Assists department managers with preparation for medical staffcommittees. Oversight responsibility for all regulatory body surveys, i.e.,JCAHO, State Licensing Review, HCFA (CMS) Validation surveys. Maintainsoversight responsibility for all performance improvement activities conductedthroughout the institution. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping,employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supplyorders and department strategic planning. Supports the coordination of medicalstaff peer review.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters degree in a health services or related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five years experience in nursing or quality managementand three years of supervisory experience required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in performance improvementactivities preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to developand analyze quality/performance data to identify trends, develop action plans,and implement program modification for change. Ability to manage day to dayoperations of quality, case management, infection control and medical staffpeer reviews. Must have a good understanding of regulatorystandards/requirements. Able to manage the department budget and develop costcontainment strategies to operate the department.
