Rhode Island Hospital, the state’s only level one trauma center, is seeking an executive-level individual to assume 24/7 responsibility for leadership of the Main and Hasbro OR department, including establishment of nursing standards of practice and the design, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of programs and systems of patient care delivery. This role participates in and contributes to the overall management of the hospital, including the establishment, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the organization's priorities, goals and objectives and is also responsible for the recruitment, selection, hiring, development and performance of immediate subordinates.
Advanced degree in a relevant field; MSN preferred
7 years of progressively responsible roles in management with an extensive clinical background
Demonstrated skill in program planning, financial planning, quality management system design/redesign and advanced information systems
Ability to direct the development, implementation and evaluation of programs for recruitment, retention, development, recognition and continuing education of staff
Experience developing and managing annual operating objectives
Advanced analytical, qualitative and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process
National reputation in Nursing and certification in specialty within 2 years preferred
