DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL SERVICES
Natividad is seeking a permanent full-time Director of Surgical Services in the Surgical Services Department. The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing of the operations and staff (clinical and non-clinical) of the Surgical Services Department (Inpatient Operating Room, Outpatient Surgical Services, Anesthesia, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit and Central Sterile); assists the Patient Financial Services Director by monitoring and analyzing patient payor mix; maintains effective business relationships which promote the services of the division.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program (Master’s preferred), possession of a valid CA Registered Nurse license or ability to obtain a CA RN license prior to start of employment, and 5 years of experience in a surgical environment with 3 years of progressive management experience.
The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of the following:
Current principles, practices, techniques, policies and procedures of nursing theory, practices and management
Health care practices, procedures, terminology and technology as they relate to nursing and surgeon practices
Expert knowledge of current clinical nursing standards of care in the Operating Room and throughout the organization

Natividad Medical Center is a 172-bed acute care hospital owned and operated by Monterey County.
