Due to our continued growth, Wake Forest Baptist Health (www.wakehealth.edu) is seeking a Nurse Manager for our 885-bed flagship academic medical center’s busy Level I trauma center emergency department.
The ED Nurse Manager leads a team of 150 FTEs and provides clinical and administrative leadership including 24/7 accountability for quality outcomes, patient experience, staff experience, and financial outcomes. Priorities center around collaboration with provider colleagues to ensure the delivery of patient centered care, enhancing relationships with other partners outside of the immediate department, team development, and serving as a subject matter expert in the development of plans and construction of a new emergency department facility.
Our Emergency Department has been a Level 1 Trauma Center since 1982, with numerous specialty accreditations including an accredited chest pain center, stroke center, one of just two burn centers in North Carolina and full subspecialty backup. Together our Emergency Medicine physicians and nurses provide services to over 500,000 patients each year across our system, with patient acuity in the 95th percentile and an admission rate of 30 percent.
This is a time of tremendous growth for our medical school and health system. In October, 2020, Wake Forest Baptist Health and Atrium Health (www.atriumhealth.org) officially joined together as a single enterprise. As part of this new enterprise, Atrium Health has announced $3.4 billion in planned investments in our health system and the communities we serve over the next ten years.
