Serving as Manager, Staffing Services at Rhode Island Hospital, you will manage staff whose activities are related to adult and pediatric care services staffing and ensure development implementation and evaluation of staffing initiatives and their related financial and quality outcomes. Duties include: - Preparing and submitting to Director Nursing Resource Management proposed annual operating and capital budgets for float pool
- Monitoring budget related to areas of responsibility, ensuring operation within allocated funds
- Forecasting and justifying department needs based upon projected patient acuity census and staffing needs
- Interviewing, training and assigning work and evaluating performance of subordinate float and per diem professional/service/administrative staff
- Ensuring effective utilization of staff resources to meet establish productivity goals
- Assessing staffing trends in Department of Nursing and aligning float pool resources to support overall department needs
- Establishing and maintaining electronic records of employee attendance
- Serving as a resource for resolution of grievances related to float pool
- Directly supervising up to 120 FTEs of nursing and support staff as well as up to 50 full-time equivalent per diem nursing and support staff
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration, healthcare administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or in another state that participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact
- 5 years of progressively more responsible clinical and administrative nursing experience
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement, effective statistical analysis abilities and research and computer application skills
