The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) for Critical Care and Emergency Nursing will assist in supporting the mission of the medical center, which includes creating, disseminating, and applying new knowledge and personalizing health care to meet the needs of each individual. The ACNO leads the overall operations in nursing, evaluates and plans for improvements in nursing leadership performance, sets standards for customer satisfaction (internal and external), and facilitates strategic and operational planning and program development. As a role model and spokesperson, the ACNO provides guidance and expertise to encourage innovation in nursing practice. This position will provide leadership, oversight, and coordination for Critical and Progressive Care and Emergency Services by developing strategic plans, objectives, goals, budgets, policies and practices. The role of the ACNO includes responsibility to lead initiatives within and across the service areas, the Division of Nursing and the Health system.
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer for Critical Care and Emergency Nursing will have the opportunity to lead a dynamic team of nurses providing care for the most acutely ill and injured patients in Central Ohio. Our team cares for patients in multiple progressive care units, a range of critical care units specializing in medical, neuroscience, surgical, trauma, and burn, as well as offering the most advanced level of emergency nursing care as one of only two Level 1 Trauma Centers in Central Ohio.
Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Public Health or Health Administration is required. Earned doctorate in health-related field (e.g., health services, public health, nursing, preventive medicine, etc.) preferred. A diverse management and leadership background in both inpatient and outpatient settings is desirable. Strong project management skills, minimum five years of clinical experience and seven years in a senior leadership role, preferably in an academic medical center and matrix reporting structures.
