The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center- Harding Hospital is Central Ohio's leading provider of crisis management, acute inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient mental and behavioral healthcare in an academic medical center setting. Harding Hospital offers 84 inpatient beds, and is equipped to provide ECT, TMS, and Ketamine services, and partners with the University Hospital Emergency Department to offer specialized Psychiatric Emergency Services. The Director is responsible for the operational and administrative leadership of psychiatric nursing services provided at OSU Harding Hospital that includes: adult inpatient, ambulatory and psychiatric emergency nursing services. The Director assumes responsibility for determining the vision and direction of inpatient, ambulatory and psychiatric emergency nursing services, determining the strategic and operational plans to support the vision, operationalizing the plans, and evaluation and/or revision of the plan in conjunction with the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. The Director is responsible for managing the operations, evaluating manager and employee performance, demonstrating customer satisfaction (internal and external), and strategic and operational planning and program development related to psychiatric nursing services. The Director serves as a leader and mentor for all nursing and related care within the department and OSU Harding Hospital. Directors of Nursing are responsible to: integrate department services within the Medical Center and OSU Harding Hospital; coordinate and integrate services within the department and with other departments; develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the department’s services; continuously assess and improve the department’s performance; maintain appropriate quality control programs; recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide the department’s services provide for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for all persons in the department; recommend sufficient space and other resources required by the department; participate in the selection of outside services if needed; and ensure compliance with appropriate patient care and business practices.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree in a health care related field required, Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Current Ohio RN license. Five to seven years progressive leadership experience. Previous leadership experience in psychiatric mental health care preferred. |
