WittKieffer is pleased to collaborate with Jackson Health System, on their search for a transformative, dynamic operational nursing leader as the Chief Nursing Officer of Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH).
Based in Miami, FL, Jackson Memorial Hospital is a 795-bed tertiary acute care hospital, that serves as the principal teaching hospital for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. JMH is an outstanding academic medical center, committed to delivering cutting edge treatment and excellent outcomes. Prior to the pandemic, the organization had over 56,000 admissions, 12,000 observation cases, 16,000 surgeries, 100,000 adult ED visits, and 4,200 trauma visits. Jackson Health System is on the cusp of a journey to transform health care delivery in all of its hospitals and, most importantly, for their flagship hospital. To facilitate this journey, Jackson Health recently created a System Chief Nursing Executive role, promoting JMH's previous CNO.
Reporting directly to the JMH CEO, with a matrix reporting relationship to the new System CNE, the JMH CNO is responsible for providing strong leadership and administrative oversight to plan, direct, execute and evaluate strategic and operational priorities to provide high quality medical care to patients. This position will set and implement a culture of excellence in the delivery of patient care. Partnering with the leadership team, and hospital staff, the CNO will focus on improving patient services, quality and safety outcomes, and lead evidence-based programs, practices and activities that deliver quality, service, and financial results.
The CNO will establish and successfully implement a vision for nursing care, advance the professional practice of nursing, and passionately lead nursing in the pursuit of clinical and service excellence. The CNO will ensure the highest levels and quality of patient/family centered care, outcomes, patient safety, operational efficiency, patient/family experience, employee engagement, and effective relationships with the medical staff. Additionally, the CNO will collaborate and work closely with organizational leadership and medical leadership throughout the Jackson Health System. They will model and hold others accountable to Jackson Health's Values and Standards of Behavior.
The CNO will be an integral member of the executive leadership team for JMH, working collaboratively across the system with the other CNO's, and sharing best practices. This position requires an individual who has a passion for providing outstanding care to the underserved, a desire to improve systems to maximize efficiency and reduce length of stay, and an enduring commitment to providing an environment conducive to maximizing education for the nurses, medical students, and residents that call JMH home. The CNO will be someone who has superb communication skills as well as high emotional intelligence. This is a unique career opportunity best suited for an individual strongly compelled to participate with a new, energetic leadership team to transform health care for the people of Miami.
