As Rhode Island’s largest health system and private employer, Lifespan is dedicated to improving the health of the people within our communities. Serving as the Nursing Excellence Manager at Rhode Island Hospital, you will provide support and coordination related to compliance and regulatory activities. You will also maintain a current knowledge base related to accreditation standards and serve as a consultant on requirements to the executive nursing leadership.
Duties include:
Assisting with ongoing development of professional and evidence-based practice activities that aim to improve nursing practice
Assisting with incorporating regulatory standards and practice into nursing department operations while working with nursing leaders and Shared Governance council representatives
Assuming responsibility in primary role of achieving nursing excellence and in the supporting role of consultant educator leader and researcher for quality nursing care and positive patient outcomes
Assuming responsibility for coordinator of accreditation and associated required reports
Completing the written accreditation applications
Assuming responsibility for quarterly submission of required data to the National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators
Coordinating with Nursing leadership to develop and implement tactical plans for achieving nursing excellence
Providing administrative maintenance of nurse certification records and nursing policy and procedures records
Actively engaging in facilitation of Nurse Residency Program for all new graduate hires
Collaborating with clinical educators and unit-based and advanced practice managers
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Nursing (candidates currently enrolled may be considered)
5 years’ relevant clinical experience
Current RN license in the State of Rhode Island
Confirmation to the Code of Professional Nurses
Understanding of the provisions of the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Rhode Island
Application specialty certifications preferred
Relevant experience in performance improvement, including data management and analysis preferred
Demonstrated project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in technical aspects of writing, document creation and presentations
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including PowerPoint and Word
