Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer position with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH) in Philadelphia.
With oversight that spans 926 licensed beds and nearly 2,000 full time nursing employees throughout Jefferson’s nationally renowned academic hub in Center City Philadelphia, the incoming SVP/CNO of TJUH will have the opportunity to drive a quality focused, contemporary nursing approach in an organization poised for transformational change. The SVP/CNO will report directly to TJUH President with dual reporting responsibility to the System Chief Nursing Executive Officer for Jefferson Health. Building upon a strong foundation of nursing care and culture, the CNO will partner with fellow nursing leaders throughout the 14-hospital, regional Jefferson Health network on the development and implementation of system?wide nursing and patient care initiatives. The successful candidate for this role will also partner and collaborate with other executive leaders in imagining and continuing to refine the unique role of nursing in the future of healthcare delivery at TJUH.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to build and lead a strong nursing leadership team committed to the highest standards of nursing practice and quality of patient care. This Magnet ® organization enjoys high levels of staff engagement and strong interprofessional collaboration with physicians and other disciplines.
Additionally, the TJUH SVP/CNO will be heavily involved in continuing the strong relationship with the Thomas Jefferson University College of Nursing, working collaboratively with the Dean of the College of Nursing.
Candidates who have obtained a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, or who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program, are strongly preferred. Nursing leadership experience in an academic medical center or complex healthcare organization is required, preferably in a healthcare system. Knowledge and experience in Magnet principles is also required from candidates who wish to be considered for this opportunity, as well as prior experience in a Magnet facility with active involvement in the Magnet process. The successful candidate must demonstrate extensive clinical nursing and management experience with a minimum of seven years in senior nursing leadership roles with prior CNO experience.
