Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is a not-for-profit community health system dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of the people of Northeast Georgia. The Executive Director of Nursing Operations, System Support and Resources is responsible for providing nursing executive leadership for the development, implementation and ongoing management of the healthcare system’s Central Operations Center, in partnership and collaboration with the Medical Director and other operational leaders. This leader will oversee and coordinate the management of inpatient bed capacity, patient flow and transitions of care coordination across the health system. The Executive Director has primary responsibility for supporting the delivery strategy through daily management of functional areas of support including nursing, clinical and ancillary services.
Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive, this leader will:
Provide overall administrative leadership and oversight of all the Nursing system administrative and support functions associated with staffing and productivity, scheduling, open shift management, nursing quality improvement, patient placement and patient complaint management, plus other systems in reporting departments;
Promote quality and safe nursing care within the organization;
Mentor reporting staff related to financial decisions regarding the daily operations of the assigned departments and by consulting with the Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive on policy decisions;
Develop a ‘customer-centric’ service program within the division for all reporting departments.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
A degree in Nursing (either BSN or MSN) and a Master’s degree, either in Nursing or other related field if possessing a BSN);
A minimum of ten years of experience in professional nursing with seven years in a leadership role having a significant business impact;
Two years of recent experience leading a Central Command Center or equivalent services and prior experience leading virtual care services;
Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia and a national certification in either a clinical or leadership specialty within two years of hire;
Professional organization membership within one month of hire, with preference for a leadership role in a local, state and/or national professional organization.
