This position has accountability and responsible for the overall operations, management, growth and development of nursing and clinical services at the hospital campuses. Assists the Senior Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer (SVP/CNO) and Vice Presidents of Operations of the hospital campuses in meeting goals and objectives outlined for services. Provides leadership, direction and oversight to the hospital’s nursing management team, to nurse educators, and to continuous improvement activities.Responsible for driving, supporting and modeling a service-oriented culture focused on patient safety, employee engagement, quality, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience. Plans, implements and coordinates patient care activities through collaborative practice with the management team, staff and physicians. Acts as a liaison related to policy and procedure development and ensures regulatory requirements are met. Maintains a high level of visibility at the hospital campuses. Builds and supports effective collegial relationships within Jefferson Health. Assists the SVP/CNO in meeting goals and objectives outlined for nursing services. Acts on behalf of the SVP/CNO of Jefferson Health New Jersey in absence of same.

Ability to read and communicate in the English language. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline. Requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of current nursing leadership and management experience demonstrating progressive leadership development and competency. National certification in nursing leadership preferred on hire and is required within six months of eligibility. Must possess licensure as a professional nurse (RN) in the state of New Jersey or a compact license in a recognized compact state.
