The Department of Nursing EID Director is responsible for achieving tangible outcomes in equity, inclusion and diversity for staff and patients within the Department of Nursing across the Enterprise.  Develop DON EID strategy development that incorporates broad Enterprise initiatives and unique site-specific attributes to ensure local progress. Monitor, and report on programs and processes to track and evaluate progress.  The director serves as both a liaison and coordinator with internal and external stakeholders to help provide common understandings and elements related to equity, diversity, and inclusivity. Works with equity, diversity and inclusion-related advisory and action committees on strategies that promote a workplace community of inclusion, equity and multiculturalism. Design, coordinate, and/or facilitate diversity and equity workshops, presentations, learning opportunities and other strategies that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion. Coordinate data collection, entry, and reporting relative to equity work and practices.

Review, recommend, and implement policies, regulations and procedures that address issues of disproportionality, diversity and cultural competency. Develop, coordinate and lead equity, diversity, and inclusion consistent with Mayo Clinic’s strategic plan to include facilitation with and inclusion of stakeholders. Assists colleagues in identifying and participating in recruitment opportunities to attract a more diverse pool of candidates for all job openings.

Convene and facilitate workgroups to assist with cultivating department-wide expertise to eliminate equity gaps and develop proactive methods to create a sustainable and equitable organization. Serve as a community liaison with outside agencies to cultivate partnerships focused on closing equity and diversity gaps. Access/support research grants and projects in support of Mayo Clinic’s Commitment Against Racism. Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidates for this role must live near one of our destination medical sites. Masters degree in a health related field required, nursing experience preferred. EID experience preferred; large healthcare system experience preferred.

Program development and Operations (planning, strategy, visioning) with strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across matrix work environment.
