The Vice President, Surgical Services reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Baystate Medical Center, and has overall responsibility and accountability for safety, quality, risk management, clinical care delivery and optimal patient outcomes, healthy work environment, strategic financial and human resource management and accountability/advocacy for the team. The VP will collaborate with senior leaders to develop and align the strategy within surgical services to support overall health system goals. This role provides direct leadership and overall administration of the surgical services at BH that includes planning, budgeting, human resource management, quality improvement, coordination and expansion of clinical services, policy development/implementation and collaboration with surgeons and BH Administrators to ensure they follow through on their organizational promise to deliver a higher state of caring.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned surgical services executive with experience leading surgical or procedural service lines, and/or administrative leadership experience in a department of surgery in a complex hospital (preferably with trauma); have a clinical background (RN); and the business and financial acumen to lead and positively impact all of surgical services throughout Baystate Health.
