As the Manager of Clinical and Navigation Services at Central Oregon’s largest Cancer Care and Research Center, you will lead and inspire our Nursing Team to meet and exceed the needs of our patients as they navigate the Cancer Care Continuum.
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute is searching for a Clinical Nurse Manager to lead clinical nursing, nurse navigation and supportive services at several sites in Central Oregon. The Clinical Nurse Manager will work in collaboration with directors and supervisors to develop and implement a care management system.
Along with the typical managerial responsibilities – team development, new hire training, and performance management – the Clinical Nurse Manager will be part of a diverse Leadership Team that is determined to provide the absolute best patient experience for the most vulnerable of patients. Oncology experience and leadership is required, but more importantly the desire to serve our community.

JOB SCOPE:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of care provided to oncology patients. This position will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Nursing Director to improve clinical nursing and nurse navigation by consulting and advising clinicians on best practices, implementing /providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of care provided within the clinical environment.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of clinical and nurse navigation care. Includes payroll, interviews, hiring and retaining employees and progressive discipline
Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned.
Travel to clinical sites within the practice to ensure the standards of patient care are being followed by the nursing staff.
Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices.
Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization that are consistent with community standards of care.
Works in interdisciplinary teams to improve care practices to provide best patient experience as they navigate the Cancer Care Continuum.
Assess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting.
Collaborates with the Nursing Director on the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.

Requirements
BSN required from an accredited program for professional nursing education from four-year college or university; Masters strongly preferred.
Business education courses preferred.
Minimum seven years actively practicing as a registered nurse, with three years oncology experience.
Three years in a leadership position (preferably oncology or complex specialty) required.
Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current CPR certification required.
OCN credential strongly preferred.
