CERTIFICATION PAY: Incumbents in this classification are eligible for certification pay at a rate of $0.813 per hour based on his or her scheduled work week hours and not to exceed the scheduled work week hours for each qualified certification possessed up to a maximum of five (5) certifications.
NATIONWIDE CERTIFICATION: Incumbents in this classification who acquire and maintain one of the nationwide certifications (Management Resolution Sec. 403 E) are eligible to receive certification pay per shift of $2.00 per hour compensated.

Under general direction of the Chief Nursing Executive or Associate Chief Nursing Executive, incumbent is responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care, management of patient care operations and supervision of personnel in assigned nursing care area. Clinical Directors collaborate with House supervisors, and other Hospital Managers on a daily basis in providing for the safety and comfort of the patients throughout the hospital.
These are entrance requirements to the examination process and assure neither continuance in the process nor placement on an eligible list.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE Clinical Nursing Director I: Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and
Minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible clinical or administrative nursing work in an acute care hospital setting which includes:
at least (2) two years of experience in a supervisory position.
Clinical Nursing Director II: Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and
Minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible clinical or administrative nursing work in an acute care hospital setting which includes:
at least three (3) years in ICU/DOU/Telemetry
at least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory position.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (both levels)
Must possess and maintain a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California Board of Registered Nurses.
Must possess a current BCLS certification, and current certifications as required by specialty areas.
Must possess and maintain a current BLS certification
Must be willing to work at two hospital campuses as needed
DESIRED:
Master’s degree in Nursing
Experience working with electronic medical records
At least (3) three years of experience in ICU/DOU
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of a Critical Care Registered Nurse - Adult (CCRN) Certification
Possession of an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
