Froedtert Health (Milwaukee) is seeking a dynamic and experienced senior leader to serve as its inaugural system Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) and Senior Vice President, Chief Nurse Officer, Froedtert Hospital. The CNE is responsible and accountable for nursing practice and professional nursing standards in all environments and settings governed by Froedtert Health and nursing operations for Froedtert Hospital. The CNE will lead the alignment and execution of the vision and long-term plan for professional nursing practice (including advanced practice nursing). They will have executive oversight of the nursing workforce of Froedtert Health and budget for Froedtert Hospital. The CNE will work in partnership with the Froedtert Health CCO in developing and executing care models for populations that leverage and optimize the contributions of the professional nurse. The CNE will work with Froedtert Health hospital CNOs, executives and nurse leaders from across the health system to align nursing practice, nursing education and nursing professional development in all settings where nurses practice. The CNE will also collaborate with academic nurse leaders in enhancing transitions from student to practice, developing effective education pathways that address nursing and health care workforce needs and advancing the nursing research agenda.
The successful candidate will be a proven nursing executive with experience in a high performing academic medical center or similarly complex organization, have Magnet experience and advanced knowledge of nursing theory, nursing practice models, care management systems, clinical practice guidelines and best practices, outcomes measurement and nursing administration as well as knowledge of nursing workload indices and measures. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned nursing leader with significant experience developing and executing nursing strategy and operations in a multi-site health system. The successful candidate will be a charismatic, business savvy leader who holds themselves and others accountable and leads through influence and fellowship. As change continues to occur across the healthcare industry, the CNE will need to assess the impact of the change on the delivery of nursing care and develop plans in response to these changes. A Master's degree is required; a Doctorate in Nursing is preferred. The CNE will be a collaborative leader and clear communicator who is able to foster relationships and drive change.
