Reporting to the VP, Nursing - Perioperative & Inpatient Nursing Services, we are excited to recruit a Director, Nursing (Perioperative Services) to lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff.

You Will:
Participate in nursing departmental strategic planning to ensure alignment with our vision, mission, values (VMV), and organizational goals
Mentor nurses in the translation of new knowledge and foster an environment of continuous learning, innovation, and scientific inquiry
Motivate and support career progression consistent with the nursing professional practice model and the organizational mission of excellence in nursing practice
Foster evidence-based practice by incorporating current research findings
Oversee the design, implementation, and measurement of perioperative nursing quality initiatives to enhance processes that support the provision of care
Participate in the performance of ongoing clinical technology assessments to maintain a state-of-the-art practice environment supportive of existing and planned programs
Ensure staffing resources are adequate and develop flexible staffing methodologies to support patient safety, high-quality patient outcomes, and productivity and efficiency
Prepare, monitor, and justify all budget activity and variances
Provide clinical input in major construction and modernization programs
You Have:
10+ years of dynamic Perioperative Nursing experience (including 5+ years of operating room experience) at an academic medical center or academic teaching hospital
Master's prepared with NYS RN license and ANCC specialty certification
Proven success in mentoring and developing nursing staff
Demonstrated track record in process improvement/redesign, strategic business and budget planning, and outstanding communication skills
The successful candidate will embrace a culture of collaboration and be seen as a trusted and respected role model among MSK’s community of nurses
