Directs all aspects of the department's operations to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization. Serves as the central resource for the Executive Team concerning strategies which are efficient, effective, timely, patient-centered, and support appropriate financial reimbursement. Collaborates with all disciplines, departments, payers, system partners, vendors, and community agencies to optimize clinical outcomes within best practice, ethical, legal, and regulatory parameters. Provides leadership and support to the Legacy Social Service Practice Council as a means of developing consistency of these roles throughout Legacy Health. Collaborates with physician offices and community agencies to integrate admission and transition planning throughout the continuum of care. Assumes 24-hour accountability for planning and direction of departments that provide: Case Management, Utilization Review, Denials and Appeals, Care Coordination, Discharge Planning, Clinical Social Work, Recovery and Disease Management, and Contracting.
Education: An academic degree in nursing is required (BSN or MSN/MN); master’s degree (MSN/MN preferred) or higher required.
Minimum of five years leadership practice experience related to area of responsibility required. Previous medical social work, utilization review and discharge planning experience required.
